Part-time Courses on the web

The part-time course lectures for each year are available on the web for enrolled students.

The new facility allows students to watch the lectures live (or almost live: there is a 30-second delay).  It also makes it possible to keep the lectures on the web-site after delivery, so that you can access them as often as you wish until they are removed at the end of the course.

If you’re interested, you must fill in the Registration form which can be completed and submitted online, or in person on the day. Once you have submitted the form and made appropriate payment, you will be automatically approved for access to the lectures online using the username and password which you provided on the registration form.

This doesn’t mean that the web need always be a substitute for personal attendance.  A large part of the benefit of these courses is the fellowship and interaction they provide with other Christians, and it would be a huge pity if this were to be lost.  What the additional on-line facility provides for those who attend the course is an exciting and convenient way to re-visit the lectures and consolidate what you’ve learned.

We are very much hoping, however, that this new on-line facility will appeal to those who live too far from Edinburgh, Stornoway, Smithton, Kimallie, or Aberdeen, to attend the course personally.  You can now access it at your own desktop, literally anywhere in the world.

Details of the part-time courses may be found here.

As for technical details, you will need Broadband, Windows Media Player and Internet Explorer. The Media Player can be downloaded free at
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/default.aspx  If you are using a Mac you should be able to use the Safari browser or Firefox.

If you need any further information about this new facility please contact Professor John A Macleod at jamacleod@freescotcoll.ac.uk
